Tadayasu Sakai received the first Suntory Prize for Social Sciences and Humanities with the “Chain of Sea” (reprinted by Seigensha) on the art history in the end of Edo Period and the beginning of Meiji,out of the many books he has published. His reviews on modern sculptures include the “Garden of Sculpture,” “Spirit of Tree,” “Law of Forest,” ”Ties of Sculptures” (published by Ozawa Shoten), “The Letter to a Sculptor”, “Interaction with the Sculptor”(published by Michitani) and “Isamu Wakabayashi, a Sculptor who Became a Dog” (published by Misuzu Shobo),etc.
