Glass Cube Shinagawa
Glass Cube Shinagawa

This office building, near the Keihin canal, is part of the Higashi Shinagawa Urban Redevelopment project. Designed as a top-quality rental office facility, this superior site is one of only a very few commanding an extensive view of Tokyo Bay.
To take full advantage of the scenery, the structure features a column-free work space—50m wide and 20m deep—with widely spaced (9.6m) supporting columns and corner-view windows to enhance the sense of livability and openness. The side of the building facing the station plaza includes a linear, compact public space that is functional and, by letting in plenty of natural light, realizes an amenity zone with a bright, clean mood. The glass facade makes the building a city landmark, easily seen from the monorail and urban expressway on the building's canal side, as also from its bustling station plaza side.
