The theme of this project was a design with dignity suitable for urban hospitals and a place where advanced medical care can be realized in a limited space enclosed by the surroundings. The face of the hospital has a symmetrical appearance, and spaces that are unique to the city center was created such as a general waiting area that was studied by behavioral simulation technology, a day room with a view of Tokyo Tower, patients’rooms and meeting rooms. As an advanced medical care facility, there are 12 operating rooms including hybrid operating rooms, re-equipped obstetrics and gynecology department rooms with LDR and emergency medical care center that can meet future medical demands. As a disaster base hospital, seismic isolation structure, cogeneration equipment, emergency power generator, and emergency water tanks using existing housings help to maintain medical functions even during the time of a disaster, and facilities and equipment are being enhanced to fulfill the functions as a regional core hospital further more.
