Geotechnical Centrifuge

Geotechnical Centrifuge

The geotechnical centrifuge enables to reproduce complex behaviors of grounds using 1/n times scale models under n-times gravitational fields. The dynamic behaviors can be also reproduced by the shaking function. The geotechinical centrifuge plays important role on the development of geotechnical engineering.

Features

Centrifuge

  • The acceleration is available up to 100G (200G) when payload is below 1,000kg (500kg) .
  • The operation is performed automatically by computerizing.
  • The visualization systems to measure deformations and failure phenomena of specimens, such as still camera and close circuit television, are available.

Shaking Table

  • The variable shaking tests are available due to the maximum weight of 250kg under 100G field.
  • The maximum acceleration of 25G can be applied in seismic directions under 50G field (500Gal in real scale) .
  • The wide range of frequency can be applied as seismic waves. The controllable range is from 10 to 400Hz (0.1 to 16Hz in the real scale) .
