Kajima Europe organized Noh performances in Warsaw to support Ukrainian refugees

  • Community support
  • Promotion of academia, culture, and art

Kajima, Kajima Europe, Kajima Poland, and Hosho Style jointly hosted a three-day series of Noh performances in Warsaw, Poland, on June 16, 17, and 18, 2023, supported by the Japanese Embassy in Poland. The aim was to help Ukrainian refugees in cooperation with the Polish people, while deepening exchanges between Japan and Poland through traditional Japanese culture.

On the first day, 130 refugees from Ukraine were invited to the theater in Poland. On the second day, briefings about Noh and short performances were presented on outdoor and indoor stages as part of Nihon Matsuri (Japan Festival), which attracted over 25,000 visitors. On the final day, Noh performances were staged in front of a packed audience at the National Theater. All programs provided audiences with the invaluable opportunity to experience the Japanese traditional performing art and ended on a high note.

All proceeds and donations collected through these Noh performances have been donated to humanitarian aid organizations in Poland.
