Located within minutes’ walk from JR Hakata Station, Kyushu’s largest terminal, this office building has a total floor area of over 20,000 square meters. Due to the site’s location right in the middle of the “Hakata business district” surrounding Hakata Station and the “Hakata history zone” around Jotenji Temple, the building’s concept is based on “a new Japanese design.” The high-rise portion uses narrow frames inspired by Japanese motifs, such as shoji screens and square lattices to express the modernity and quality of the office, while the lower portion (retail space) is designed with faux wood eaves and dark gray pillars to match the streetscape of the history zone. The 10-meter-high pilotis on the east side with a strong sense of unity with the street accommodates various events, providing a new place of relaxation and activity on Jotenji Street, a frequented street for office workers and tourists.
