This project has integrated the offices of the Tokyo area branch of Kajima’s construction division. The key themes of the medium-scale project are flexibility, energy efficiency, and low cost. The designers sought to realize a model building that is energy-efficient, has a high degree of amenity, and achieves superior environmental performance. The office space, with its outer-frame structure, incorporates glass-block modules to reduce direct sunlight-while providing natural, filtered lighting during the day-and provide the outer walls with excellent insulation.
By using smart terminals to control the interior environment, office workers play an active role in making their work space more ecologically sustainable, while improving energy efficiency and habitability.
The project achieved the Zero-Energy Building (ZEB) standard, according to the Building Energy-efficiency Labeling System (BELS) certification program. Meanwhile, standardization during construction helped to reduce labor costs and boost productivity.
