Shiodome East-side is an office building in Tsukiji, bordering the Shiodome area. The main issue to overcome was how to fully utilize the unique characteristics of the irregularlyshaped site. Kajima was able to ensure strong business functionality for the building, while providing ample room and maximizing floor space on the wedge-shaped piece of land. The exterior, rather than rectangular, is custom designed to fit the site. Kajima selected low-cost, high-tech materials, and took additional measures that integrated the design, quality and technology, and provided an optimal solution. The white, smooth precast concrete panels and dark grey ribbon windows provide the building with a minimalist design that stands out in the bustling surroundings of the area.
