This building is located on the east of The Parkhouse Shinjuku Tower, and is part of a redevelopment project implemented by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government that utilizes the know-how of specific private-sector architectural and construction firms. The site is at the western end of the Nishi Shinjuku skyscraper district in Tokyo, a gateway location when heading toward central Tokyo. For this reason, an iconic design with strong, elegant vertical lines was chosen. Such energy-saving technologies as outdoor air cooling and night purge were employed, while solar power generation and wall greening also contributed to the building attaining a CASBEE class S-equivalent standard—the highest environmental performance rank in Japan. The building's attributes also offer significant business continuity planning (BCP) advantages, through such features as hydraulic vibration damping and in-house power generation systems.
