This 160m-tall complex forms a new landmark in Tokyo's Akasaka Mitsuke district, combining office, residential and commercial functions, while bringing together many of the latest architectural technologies. It realizes the many features required in an ultra-high-rise building of the future—advanced safety and environmental performance, comfort, functionality, and convenience—thereby providing a pleasant living space and urban amenities for office tenants, residents and visitors. The high-performance glass and the shadow of the carefully planned structural frame provide both reduced environmental burden and comfortable interior spaces without over-reliance on equipment-based services. By clearly dividing the structure from the exterior, service equipment and interior, the building achieves flexibility, ease of maintenance and excellent modifiability for long-term use. By expressing the structural frame as an outer skin, the building offers both structural and functional beauty.
