This is the new factory of a company that has a history closely intertwined with the development of the Hyogo Prefecture city of Tatsuno, often referred to as Little Kyoto. The project’s design theme of co-existence of tradition and innovation reflects the client’s corporate philosophy. Referencing the area’s historical atmosphere and streetscape, the design blends well with the surrounding area and is in keeping with the scale of nearby buildings. The project, on the sightseeing route from the station to the old castle town, also enhances of the local environment by including a small park in the city’s redevelopment plan for the railway station area. As a food production facility, the factory has two highly functional and efficient automated warehouses, an aspect also expressed in the external form. The factory boasts superior quality management conforming to American Institute of Baking (AIB) standards.
