Message from the President
Kajima Corporation has built a history of almost 180 years since it first commenced operations in 1840. Over that long history, our management philosophy has always been: “As a group of individuals working together as one, we pursue creative progress and development founded on both rational, scientific principles and a humanitarian outlook, through which we strive to continually advance our business operations and contribute to society.”
At Kajima, it is our “enterprising spirit” that drives us to take on the big challenges. We have worked on pioneering projects across the generations, including the country’s first skyscraper and many different national development projects in areas such as infrastructure and railways. We are proud of the contributions we have made to the industrial and economic development of Japan.
Outside Japan, Kajima has been working together with its group companies to expand operations in major countries and regions of the world. This includes the United States, where we have a strong track record stretching back more than half a century, as well as Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. As a network of companies that offers services globally, the Kajima Group will aim for further growth by diversifying its project portfolio and leveraging its special strengths in construction projects and development projects.
In recent years in Japan, securing a new generation of workers to handle the work at construction sites—the frontline of our business activities—has been extremely challenging. To address this as well as the government’s recommendations for “work style reform”, the Kajima Group has been improving the work environment at all of its companies in order to create appealing workplaces where everyone involved in work at construction sites can pursue their aspirations and work with vigor.
Looking ahead, we are determined to adhere to the principle of “putting the construction site first” in our management, while encouraging everyone at each site to “build with the heart and soul of a craftsman” to construct buildings and structures that will be valuable for their users. As we pursue these endeavors, we hope to have your continued support.
