Building Environment

To verify how people perceive indoor environments, we utilize our experimental facilities and advanced simulation technology for reproducing various environments in terms of sound, light, and heat, and we conduct research and development to create spaces with high added value by balancing the functionality required for a “comfortable environment” with energy conservation.

Anechoic chamber

Anechoic chamber

A room that minimizes reflection of sound from the walls, floors, and ceilings to minimize the reverberation of sound within the room. It is used for simulating sound environments and obtaining basic data for 3D sound technology.

Air conditioning performance experiment chamber

Air conditioning performance experiment chamber

A thermal-environment-testing room with one entire side of the room as a window surface. In this room, we can carry out experiments such as reproducing the air flow along a window surface caused by the outside air temperature and verifying the effects of outflow and inflow of air.

Smart hospital room

Smart hospital room

A laboratory that simulates a hospital room. Its environment is controlled according to the patient’s biometric information to control the sound, light, and thermal environment in a manner that assures a good night’s sleep.

Artificial meteorological chamber

Artificial meteorological chamber

A laboratory in which indoor temperature and humidity can be varied from -30 to 80°C. Two rooms are adjacent to each other, and the outdoor and indoor environments of the rooms can be varied in a manner that makes it possible to evaluate the anti-condensation effectiveness of the exterior walls.

Airflow experiment chamber

Airflow experiment chamber

Conducting experiments that emphasize air flow, such as developing new air-conditioning systems for operating rooms.

Radio wave anechoic chamber

Radio wave anechoic chamber

Electromagnetic waves are measured in a room that blocks external radio waves and suppresses internal radio-wave reflections.
