About the SICC AWARDS
Established in 2015 and awarded in five categories, the SICC AWARDS aims to encourage collaboration between companies for innovation and growth. As for the 2025 SICC AWARDS, the three parties who jointly developed the “concrete-floor-finishing robot”—Kajima Corporation, government developer JTC Corporation (JTC), and Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP)—were jointly awarded in recognition of their collaboration between industry, academia, and government in the field of technology transfer from seed technology to actual business.
Summary of the winning project
The robot was developed over a two-year period (starting in April 2021) with research funding from JTC. Aiming to reduce the labor required for concrete-floor-finishing work by automating existing manual machines, we created a simulation environment by using a digital twin, which was controlled through actual machine testing. As a result, we created a platform that can operate automatically in the same way as an experienced operator.
Kajima will continue to uphold our motto of “creating innovation across borders” as we take on global challenges and create new value.
