The client—a nationwide operator of contact centers and temporary staffing services—commissioned this project as its first purpose-built facility. The brief articulated the client’s strong belief that a company must look after its employees well if it is to prosper. Hence, Kajima developed a concept that prioritizes the comfort of workers and conveys the client’s philosophy to the local community. The facility, sitting on a slightly elevated site on Yamagata City’s southern perimeter, provides panoramic views of the Mount Zao Range. The floor plan adopts a basic unit of 14.4m×10.8m, with the operations room comprising ten units laid out in linear fashion. This arrangement enables the client to flexibly respond to the needs of its outsourcing customers. Adjoining this is a 108m-long communication space, featuring an atrium and terrace, designed to enhance the comfort of users.
