This new training center aims to enhance the professional capacities of nurses, as well as create a space where members will be energized through opportunities to interact. The site occupies a strategic location in a developing neighborhood on the north side of Nishi-Omiya Station. The building’s size is in harmony with the municipal office across the main street, and its large, exterior, jointless wall— inspired by a grove of trees—was designed to become a neighborhood landmark and the focal point for the evolving cityscape. A large central staircase connects the 1st and 2nd levels. The former level has interior and exterior gathering spaces and administration functions, while the latter has small gathering spaces for members and training functions. By incorporating an array of gathering places of various sizes, the center offers enough space to meet diverse meeting needs.
