MEIEKI DIA MEITETSU BUILDING
MEIEKI DIA MEITETSU BUILDING

Meieki Dia Meitetsu Building is a multi-tenant office building planned on a highly accessible site adjacent to the north end of Nagoya Station. In consultation with the local authorities and neighboring landowners, boundary fences were removed on the ground floor. The pedestrian deck on the second floor is directly connected to the adjacent building, crossing the property line to enable direct access to the station on two levels. The entrance, where the circulation from the ground floor and second floor are connected through an atrium, is designed as a dynamic space suitable for welcoming users, with underfloor air conditioning to enhance the visitors' comfort. Responding to the special conditions where the underground railroad structure penetrates through the site, we planned the overhang of the upper structure and the compact eccentric core. Despite the small site surrounded by buildings, this building is open to all four sides, each offering a distinct, beautiful view.
