For Taiho’s second manufacturing facility in Tokushima prefecture, the company created a 100-year master plan for the 29-hectare site. The key considerations were achieving maximum flexibility in the future layout of factory buildings, and ensuring that a beautiful view from the surrounding area would be maintained after the addition of new buildings. Phase I of the project encompassed 12 buildings, including the solid formulations factory, administration block and water treatment building. The solid formulations factory’s high-quality manufacturing facilities meet global standards, based on containment technology for advanced safety and reliable automated production lines. The water treatment building has a landmark role with its colorful, lit-up fountain, while harmony with its surroundings is achieved through such features as a pedestrian pathway with 560 cherry blossom trees, a stream, and lawn, which will be made available for enjoyment by the local community.
