Laboratories & Facilities
Disaster Prevention & Construction
This laboratory is equipped with several types of experimental apparatus for heating test pieces at high temperatures and applying loads at the same time to simulate actual fire conditions. These apparatuses are indispensable for establishing new technologies related to disaster prevention, from the properties of material such as concrete to the fire resistance performance of full-scale structural members.

Multi-purpose Fire Test Furnace
Fire resistance performance of various members such as columns, beams, and floors are tested at full scale by heating under the assumption of an actual fire.

Fire-resistance Test Furnace
Dedicated to Walls
Reproduce the condition of structures in an actual fire by applying load at the same time heating.

Heat Release Evaluation Test Apparatus Cone Calorimeter
Measure oxygen consumption by combustion of building materials and calculate heat release rate and total heat release.

Compression Test Apparatus for Concrete at High Temperature
Compressive force is applied during heating to obtain the data of high-temperature properties of concrete.
