Wind

Using two wind tunnels for various experiments related to wind and advanced measurement technology, we evaluate the invisible effects of wind from multiple perspectives. We are conducting research and development to solve architectural and structural design problems of buildings related to wind, and to provide safe structures, comfortable living, and wind environments.

Large Boundary-Layer Wind Tunnel Fan

Fan of Large Boundary-Layer
Wind Tunnel

A fan with a diameter of 4.3 m generates wind that circulates inside a wind tunnel with a circumference of 121 m.
The wind tunnel with closed circuit provides an efficient and stable air flow. Maximum wind speed at the test section is 40 m/s.

The model is placed on the main turntable, one of the largest in the construction industry, with a maximum diameter of 4 m, and wind pressure, wind force, and wind speed are measured by various sensors.
Outdoor natural wind is simulated by generating turbulence with roughness blocks and so on placed on the floor of the wind tunnel.
