Issue 1
Low Number of Women in Career-Track Positions
Goal 1
Increase the percentage of female employees hired into career-track positions to 30% by FY2028.

From August 2024

・Based on the male-female ratio of the 'entry sheets' received, our basic policy is to hire highly competent applicants regardless of that ratio even for job categories in which there are more women than men.

・To address concerns arising from the absence of role models, we will actively present clear career paths and enhance the visibility of employees’ careers and professional backgrounds.

・To foster an inclusive corporate culture, we will provide education on basic DE&I concepts, including ongoing awareness initiatives such as e-learning and unconscious bias training, as well as training on communication with diverse talent.

・We will provide level-specific training programs for female employees and strengthen networks that enable communication across job categories and departments.

Issue 2
Low Number of Female Managers
Goal 2
Achieve a ratio of 3.8% female managers (section manager level and above) by FY2028, with a long-term goal of reaching 10% by FY2035.

From August 2024

・We will promote advancement opportunities by providing early job experiences that enable continued growth even after life events such as childbirth and childcare.

・We will promote the appointment of managers through mid-career hiring as well as advancement from non–career-track positions.

Issue 3
Further Improve the Paternity Leave Utilization Rate
Goal 3
Achieve a 100% paternity leave utilization rate, with at least 50% of employees taking leave for 30 days or longer.

From August 2024

・To enable early awareness of planned paternity leave, we conduct surveys and support employees in taking leave at their preferred timing and duration.

・Through push-based consultation desks on work-life balance at head and branch offices, we provide personalized support regarding paternity leave.

Inclusion of People with Disabilities

Creating a Comfortable Work Environment That Embraces Disabilities as Part of Diversity

Kajima embraces disabilities as part of diversity, promotes recruitment practices that respect individuality regardless of whether a person has a disability, and creates an environment where everyone can fully demonstrate their abilities.

04

Engagement of Senior Employees

A Workplace Where Senior Employees Continue to Thrive

Employees who reach the mandatory retirement age of 60 and who wish to continue working may do so under our reemployment system, which provides the necessary framework and environment to support continued employment. The reemployment rate is approximately 90% (and 100% among those who request reemployment). In recent years, more than 1,000 senior employees have continued to play active roles on the front lines, including as project managers. They contribute by applying the skills and experience they have developed over many years, while also supporting the development of the next generation and passing on their expertise.

LGBTQ+/SOGI

A Workplace Where Everyone Can Truly Be Themselves

Kajima is developing a workplace environment and systems that enable all employees to work in a way that reflects their true selves. We are working to promote understanding in the workplace through initiatives such as installing gender-inclusive restrooms and providing e-learning programs. In the Kajima Group Code of Conduct and the Kajima Group Human Rights Policy, we stipulate respect for all human rights, prohibit discrimination and unfair treatment, and emphasize respect for individual dignity, personality, and diversity. In addition, the Kajima Harassment Prevention Guide includes a section on the prevention of SOGI-related harassment. We have established internal and external consultation desks to prevent unfair discrimination and harassment.

NEW

In April 2025, we established a partnership policy that recognizes common-law and same-sex partnerships as equivalent to legal marriage, enabling employees to access company benefits and other internal programs on that basis.

NEW

In October 2025, Kajima received the “LGBT-Friendly Declaration Certificate” from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in recognition of our efforts to create a workplace environment in which sexual minorities can work comfortably.
