“CUCO-SUICOM Blocks” produced using CO2 captured from the atmosphere using DAC (Direct Air Capture) technology developed by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. were installed as part of pavement at the entrance of the “CUCO-SUICOM Dome” for the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. In addition, ten different types of “CUCO-paving blocks” were placed in various areas such as the EXPO Arena, to conduct a demonstration experiment where many visitors walked on them. Throughout the event, the changes in the quality of the blocks were monitored and the collected data will be utilized for future research and development. This initiative was carried out as part of NEDO’s Green Innovation Fund Project*.

  • *The Green Innovation Fund Project provides continuous support by NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization), a national research and development agency, from technological research and development to demonstration and social implementation to achieve the national goal of “carbon neutrality by 2050”.
